NSS aims at developing student's personality through community service. To inculcate that, the NSS of MMM College of Health Sciences has organized various awareness programs every month to observe a special day. The main objectives of organizing such programs are to furnish insight about the importance of such days and make our students to contribute their best for the development of our society. Various awareness programs like Alcohol and Drug Abuse Awareness for adolescent, National Hospice and Palliative Care, World Diabetes day, AIDS Awareness day, Road Safety Awareness month, World Cancer Day, Women’s day, World Health Day, World Liver day, Human trafficking day, World Hypertension Day, National Science Day are conducted by the NSS wing.
Youth Red Cross Society (YRC)
A substantial portion of the membership of Indian Red Cross Society is made up of young people. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme. In this regards, the YRC wing of MMM College of Health Sciences organized number of activities involving students for various outreach programme for the needy people like helping out to educate English, math, science for govt. primary school students. YRC organized various programs like National Science Day, International geriatric day, National youth day, hand wash day, world disability day, Internet Safety day, National autism awareness day, world environment day etc.
The Grievance Cell has been set up to help students to record and solve their grievances in matters directly affecting them, either individually or as a group . Grievance Redressal Cell addresses the grievances of students that are submitted in writing or by email or anonymously in the suggestion box about issues related to academic matters, financial issues, certain misgivings about conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers etc. with due procedure followed by the committee for resolving the matters raised. All complaints are resolved time to time and report submitted to Principal /Chairperson
Counseling cell provides individual attention to social, academic, economic, and adjustment problems of students to enable personal growth. Programmes on personality development is also taken care by the cell. The cell is headed by a qualified psychologist.
Ragging / eve teasing is totally prohibited. Any student who is affected by ragging / eve teasing is to report to any member of the concerned committee / principal. Any student indulging in such activity is dealt in accordance with anti-ragging act / prohibition of eve teasing act, which may result in expulsion from college/academy and / or imprisonment. At the time of admission each student and the parent are required to fill in the declaration form meant for the purpose.
The college considers the cooperation of parents or guardians with the college/academy authorities as very essential for development of the students. Therefore, parent-teacher meetings are held at least once in a year. The parents are also invited on a “one-to-one” basis periodically for a critical appreciation of the students’ performances.
Students’ representatives of all classes are members of the students development council. The students council comprises President, Secretary and Joint Secretary, who are nominated. It is the responsibility of the committee of students council to arrange for monthly meeting to discuss the grievances, if any, and bring the same to the notice of the authorities.
The Alphonsa Abode (MMM CHS Ladies Scholar Residence) is within the college campus. The hostel cares for its students and takes measures to ensure their safety and security. The Abode has all forms of support services, administrative mechanisms, and rules and regulations to make the safety and security systems work for the welfare of its residents. We accommodate not less than 100 students from UG & PG courses. The hostel is supervised by the experienced AO & warden who keenly observe and guide the residents while maintaining discipline among the students.
The hostel is managed by the hostel committee, which is constituted by the hostellers and executed by the warden and Administrative Officer in consultation with the Principal. Delicious and nutritious vegetarian & non. -vegetarian food prepared under hygienic conditions is provided to students for lunch & dinner. The college has a canteen within the campus catering to the needs of the students.
